It is with great pride that we announce that Fully Managed CEO, Joel Abramson, has been named an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2018 award finalist in the Pacific region. For the uninitiated, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year is the world’s most prestigious business awards program for entrepreneurs:

“The program makes a difference through the way it encourages entrepreneurial activity among those with potential and recognizes the contribution of people who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement. As the first and only truly global awards program of its kind, Entrepreneur Of The Year celebrates those who are building and leading successful, growing and dynamic businesses, recognizing them through regional, national and global awards programs in more than 145 cities in more than 60 countries.” (Ernst & Young Global Limited.

You can see why things are buzzing around the office as of late, and while Joel remains forever humble, we couldn’t be prouder.

Joel's tenure as the leader of Fully Managed has been marked by unprecedented growth.  What’s more, Joel’s work has contributed to the rise of BC’s vibrant tech community while expanding the entire country’s global footprint as a leader in the information technology consulting sector. First and foremost, Joel considers himself an advocate for innovation and disruption, with Managed IT Services being the central nervous system. He regularly brings Managed Service Providers (MSPs) together in communities around the world, sharing best practices and tirelessly working to raise the bar for service standards and strategic guidance for the SME customers serviced by the industry.

Last month, Joel was the sole attendee representing SME's at a federal government roundtable in Ottawa, where alongside ministers and CIO's, Canada's new Cybersecurity policy was unveiled. Our CEO is helping shape the standards of cybersecurity for businesses nationwide and with him brings a vision of helping the economy as a whole prevail in this time of online warfare.

While recognized for his achievements as an entrepreneurial trailblazer, Joel considers himself a proud servant to the businesses and organizations that make Canada great.

“Every day our team has the tremendous opportunity to partner with several local and international businesses that are at the forefront of innovation in their respective sectors,” says Joel. “Being considered by EY for this prestigious award is both an honour and a reflection of the talented work and dedication of our entire team at Fully Managed.”

In total, there are 35 entrepreneurs named as finalists in this year's EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2018 Pacific awards. One look at that group and you can see that Canada’s west coast is good hands for many years to come.

So what’s next?

The Entrepreneur Of The Year Pacific finalists will gather at the Pacific Gala on September 25 in Vancouver BC at the Vancouver Convention Centre, where EY will name one winner from each of the nine categories selected by an independent panel of judges. From that impressive list of category winners, one will be named the overall Pacific Entrepreneur Of The Year and will later compete with regional winners from Atlantic, Québec, Ontario and Prairies for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Canada title. Then, the Canadian winner will proceed to compete with winners from across the globe for the title of EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year, which takes place in June 2019. We’ll be waiting with bated breath through it all, but first things first, as we prepare to join Joel at the Pacific Gala in a few short weeks.
