Key Areas of Responsibility

The primary mission of an Accounts Receivable Collections Representative is to collect on past due accounts.

  • Process semi-monthly payroll for Canadian and U.S. team members
  • Complete commission calculations on a monthly basis
  • Verify travel related expenses for payroll purposes
  • Prepare payroll related semi-monthly journal entries
  • Act as the first point of contact for all payroll related inquiries
  • Complete monthly WSIB and WCB filings
  • Update annual rates (payroll, benefits) and commission structure required for processing payroll
  • Reconcile WSIB, EHT payments on an annual basis
  • Generate T4s
  • Prepare T2200 for employees with employment related expenses
  • Semi-annually, pay out vacation earned on commissions
  • Quarterly, provide HR with a list of outstanding vacation balances for all team members
  • Reconcile the monthly benefits invoice to payroll
  • Annual update of salaries for benefits
  • Track the payout of the fitness subsidy
  • Prepare the quarterly labour report for the province
  • Compile of list of new hires for the Board of Directors
  • Prepare letters for employees when stock options are approved
  • Complete all other payroll related forms from external sources
  • Prepare payroll related reporting
  • Ad hoc payroll related projects

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

We’re flexible but these are a must:

  • 2+ years of processing payroll in an automated environment
  • Knowledge of Canadian, provincial and U.S. payroll compliance legislation
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure

Assets:

  • Experience with ADP WorkForceNow preferred
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation is a strong asset
