Skype for Business

A decade ago, Skype broke down geographical barriers by bringing friends & family together – changing the way people share moments across the world. It is used by more than 300 million people, and now it will be used for business too!

Over the next month the Lync application and web-app that you're familiar with will be phased out and Skype for Business will be introduced. Chances are you're already using skype to stay connected with your friends and family, so we're confident that you'll appreciate the simplicity of this enterprise-grade platform.

We anticipate a smooth transition from Lync to Skype for Business, as it has been purpose built to feel similar to Lync & Skype – two platforms that you're already familiar with. Furthermore, the Quick Action buttons make the process very self-explanatory, offering up the options to make calls, use video, instant message, and more. That being said, if you have any questions feel free to reach out to your account manager and they would be happy to help you during this transition!

3 features that we love about Skype for Business:

Connect with anyone – reach people with voice, video or chat both in and outside your organization- skype makes it possible to call any Skype user on any device

Better interface for touch – the interface has be re-designed with bigger icons, to support touch environments with just a few clicks

Simplified controls & menus – make it easy to find the action you need, and chat text is formatted so you can easily see who's talking (similar to text message)
