by Sharleen Oborowsky @ Fully Managed™ August marks an exciting month for us at Fully Managed™: the very first leg of the journey of a refurbished laptop computer from Edmonton, AB to Pigeon Lake to Calgary to Kilamanjaro, Africa. Why are we doing this and why is it important to me?
We see so many new and gorgeous systems leaving our doors each day, replacing other systems that are "older" by our standards. It turns out, these same systems which we would normally recycle are actually sorely needed in Africa, by working men and women who can't afford clean clothes & water, let alone technology.
As a leading IT service provider, this initiative obviously ties in extremely well with our business; we have the passion and people to select and rebuild these systems efficiently. However, what makes this initiative truly special for us is that we are executing on our Core Purpose of Creating Peace of Mind for an entirely new group of people in Africa - we've up until now been focused on our team, clients, and partners. We're thrilled to add community to this list.
